The Starting Point

The Oasis Maspalomas complex (54 apartments in Gran Canaria) was constrained by its reliance on a single channel: Booking.com accounted for 60% of its sales in 2025.

The Aibo consulting team quickly identified two critical opportunities for improvement:

  • Build a strong direct sales channel to reduce commissions paid to OTAs and improve profit margins.

In the summer of 2025, the property decided to commit to digital transformation and implement cloud-based hotel technology alongside a comprehensive revenue management outsourcing service with Aibo Solutions.

Our work focused on:

  • Designing a dynamic pricing strategy by channel, segment, and season.
  • Realigning the sales strategy and incentivizing bookings through the hotel’s direct website.

Measurable profitability results

As of the end of May 2026, the combination of our strategic consulting and GuestPro’s technology ecosystem shows the following historical data:

  • The ADR (Average Daily Rate) for the direct website has grown by 31.28% compared to 2024.
  • This increase in the direct channel outpaces the growth of Booking.com (28%) and Airbnb (20%).

Translation: The hotel is selling rooms at a higher price and, above all, reducing distribution costs (lower commissions), which directly impacts the GOP (Gross Operating Profit).

La Jabega: From Manual Operations to a Direct-Booking Powerhouse

The Starting Point

La Jabega, an aparthotel with 133 apartments in Fuengirola (Málaga), joined Aibo Solutions’ transformation project in December 2025 with highly traditional operations that relied heavily on manual processes:

  • Use of an obsolete CRM system dating back to 2007.
  • Paper-based management of check-ins and operational processes.
  • No channel manager: inventory and rate updates on OTAs were done manually, reservation by reservation.
  • Reliance on traditional tour operators was nearly 100%.

The diagnosis was clear: high operational effort, elevated risk of errors, low profit margins, and no control over the end customer.

Aibo’s Comprehensive Intervention

At Aibo, we approached the project as a 360° digital transformation to redefine the business model:

  • Definition of the new commercial and hotel distribution strategy.
  • Implementation of the complete technology suite with GuestPro: PMS, corporate website, booking engine, and integrated channel manager.
  • Design and implementation of a continuous revenue management service focused on the B2C and B2B markets.
  • Set up marketing automation workflows and newsletters to attract and retain customers.

After a week of intensive on-site training to equip the staff, the hotel eliminated 85% of its operational paperwork, transitioning to agile and efficient digital management.

Actual Results and Projections (OTB 2026)

Data extracted from commercial activity shows a complete paradigm shift in the hotel’s distribution:

  • Elimination of traditional, rigid tour operator-based sales, opening the hotel to B2B and B2C online channels and maximizing the potential of its new website.
  • Direct online sales have gone from a baseline result in 2025 to an On The Books (OTB) figure for 2026 representing growth of over 426% (nearly a fivefold increase from the previous volume!).
  • As of May 2026, the hotel has already generated 78.16% of the total revenue from the entire previous year, increasing the average ADR by €7 compared to last year.

In other words: The hotel has become independent from the tour operator market, sells at a better price, and has an automated front desk free of administrative burdens.

Lessons in Hotel Strategy: What These Two Cases Teach Us

Both Oasis Maspalomas and La Jabega validate a maxim of today’s market: technology alone does not bring about transformation; it is technology driven by a clear strategy that multiplies profitability.

  • At Oasis Maspalomas, the strategic focus was on revenue management and the distribution mix: using software to optimize inventory and sell at higher margins.
  • At La Jabega, the top priority was automating hotel processes to free the team from routine tasks, allowing them to focus their efforts on the guest experience and upselling.
